Hugh had been ill for a long time but it is still a shock when someone passes. My brother in law, married to my sister Valerie. I met him when I was 15 years old. Very much close family and hard when a family member passes. Always supportive and with a twinkle in his eye.

I am so sorry to hear Hugh is gone. I have such happy memories of all the chats we had when he came to see Colin and all. He was such a wonderful character. Thinking of you all and sending lots of love. Heather Rice

Dearest Uncle Hugh, (uncle strict or uncle shoe), as I used to say as a 7 year old. You will be greatly missed by so many.
I am so sorry I can’t come to say goodbye in person, but I will be there in spirit.
Thank you for teaching me to eat with my knife and folk the right way around.
Lots of love
